Abu Dhabi is a happening place to unveil cars and SUVs these days, so when Nissan decided to pull the covers off its new Patrol SUV, it chose the Middle Eastern emirate for the big unveil.

Why should you care? Because this new Patrol will mostly likely come to the U.S. as the 2011 Infiniti QX56. That vehicle is slated for a debut at the 2010 New York Auto Show at the end of March.

For now, we can tell you that this Patrol has a 400-horsepower, direct-injected version of Nissan's 5.6-liter V8. It's hooked to Nissan's seven-speed automatic transmission and what Nissan calls a all-mode four-wheel drive system.

In a switch from the previous version, this Patrol rides on a fully independent suspension and features a Hydraulic Body Motion Control System that Nissan says keeps the vehicle flatter through corners.
