General Motors Does the Executive Shuffle
Only a couple of days after Fritz Henderson handed in his resignation as CEO of General Motors, Chairman and acting CEO Ed Whitacre has announced a shuffling of executives at the New GM.
The moves see long-time GMer and product-guy Mark Reuss promoted to President of GM North USA from his current position of Vice President of Global Vehicle Engineering. Reuss, son of legendary Buick man Lloyd Reuss, formerly ran GM's Holden operation in Australia and, encouragingly, ran GM's Performance Division and is certified by the company as one of its pool of drivers cleared to drive at the Nurburgring. From a product perspective, we're very encouraged by Reuss' appointment.
Bob Lutz will remain as vice chairman and rumors of his future range from being the next CEO to being marginalized within the corporation.
