Cadillac Boss, Bryan Nesbitt, To Be Dumped as Part of GM Marketing And Sales Shake-up
In a couple of hours GM is expected to announce that Bryan Nesbitt, the young former designer best known for designing the Chrysler PT Cruiser, will be removed from his position as Cadillac general manager.
Nesbitt, a protege of Bob Lutz, got the Cadillac job last summer, making his the second-shortest stint as a general manager, behind Michael Richards, the boss of Buick-GMC whose tenure was so short he never unpacked his stuff.
This is yet another example of what appears to be an unstable management team at the post-bankruptcy GM. No word yet on who will replace Nesbitt, but there's already a rumor afloat that Nesbitt will return to a Europe where he formerly served as design director at GM Europe.
The move appears to be part of a larger shake-up of marketing and income executives reported by Automotive News yesterday.
